1. OVERVIEW & LEGAL BASIS

This Refund & Exchange Policy (“Policy”) explains the procedure, conditions, and limitations governing exchanges and non-cash refunds for products purchased from THE SOVIET (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”) through our official website or other authorized online platforms.

This Policy has been framed in accordance with applicable Indian laws, including:

Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020

THE SOVIET operates with a customer-first approach while maintaining reasonable safeguards to protect product quality, hygiene, and operational integrity.

By placing an order on our Website, you (“Customer”, “you”) agree to be bound by this Policy.

2. POLICY OBJECTIVE

The objective of this Policy is to:

Provide a transparent and predictable exchange mechanism

Clearly outline eligibility and exclusions

Ensure lawful, fair, and time-bound resolution of post-purchase issues

Maintain consistency in how exchanges and credit notes are handled

THE SOVIET follows a non-cash refund model. Approved returns are resolved via exchange or store credit (promo code) and not through cash or bank refunds, except where mandated by law.

3. DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of this Policy:

“Customer” means any person who has placed an order with THE SOVIET

“Product” means any apparel or merchandise sold under THE SOVIET brand

“Exchange” means replacement of an eligible product (usually size-based) or issuance of store credit

“Store Credit / Promo Code” means a one-time, non-transferable digital credit issued instead of a cash refund

“Eligible Product” means a product that meets the conditions listed in Clause 5

“Non-Returnable Product” means products specifically marked as final sale, hygiene-sensitive, or non-exchangeable

4. ORDER PROCESSING TIMELINE

Orders are generally processed within 24–48 working hours after payment confirmation

Processing time does not include shipping or delivery duration

Customers will be informed in advance if there is a delay in dispatch

5. ELIGIBILITY FOR EXCHANGE

An exchange request will be accepted only if all conditions below are met:

Product Condition

Unused, unworn, unwashed

No stains, odour, or damage

Original tags, labels, and packaging intact

Valid Reasons for Exchange

Size-related exchange for the same product

Manufacturing defect or damage on arrival

Wrong product delivered

Change-of-mind exchanges are permitted only if explicitly stated on the product page.

Timeframe

Exchange request must be raised within 7 days of delivery

Documentation

Order invoice or confirmation

Photographs and/or unboxing video (if requested)

Failure to meet any of the above conditions may result in rejection of the request.

6. NON-ELIGIBLE EXCHANGES

The following are not eligible for exchange or credit:

Used, washed, worn, or altered items

Missing tags, packaging, or invoice

Requests raised after the allowed timeframe

Damage caused by customer handling

Multiple exchanges for the same order

Items marked “Final Sale”, “Non-Returnable”, or clearance products

Any product received in violation of this section will be returned to the customer at their cost, without store credit.

7. WRONG OR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

If you receive a defective or incorrect product:

Notify us within 48 hours of delivery

Share clear images of the product, packaging, and invoice

Upon verification:

We will arrange reverse pickup where feasible, or

Issue a store credit if replacement stock is unavailable

8. EXCHANGE PROCESS (STEP-BY-STEP)

Our team reviews the request within 2 business days

Return Pickup / Shipping

Reverse pickup may be arranged where serviceable

Customer must pack the item securely

Quality Check
Returned product is inspected within 3 business days

Resolution

Replacement dispatched, or

Store credit issued via email

Entire exchange cycle typically completes within 7–10 working days after receipt.

9. STORE CREDIT / PROMO CODE POLICY

Issued only after successful quality inspection

Equal to the product value (excluding shipping charges)

Valid for 90 days from issuance

Single-use and non-transferable

Applicable only on THE SOVIET website

Unused or expired promo codes will not be reissued.

10. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Customers are responsible for ensuring that returned products:

Are packed securely

Meet hygiene and quality standards

Include original tags and invoice

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Any self-shipping costs incurred by the customer are non-reimbursable unless explicitly approved.

11. LIMITATIONS

No cash, UPI, card, or bank refunds are offered

Exchanges are limited to one per order

THE SOVIET reserves the right to reject returns that fail inspection

Our liability is limited strictly to the value of the product purchased.
